Company Data Guys HubSpot setup
This public guide is specific to the Company Data Guys HubSpot integration and covers install, OAuth scopes, app-card configuration, first enrichment, disconnect, uninstall, and data consequences.
What Company Data Guys does
Company Data Guys enriches HubSpot company records with current company data. The first HubSpot app version writes an accurate employee count to a dedicated Company Data Guys property, and future versions are intended to expand into richer firmographic fields. This version is intentionally company-only: it does not enrich contacts, deals, tickets, marketing lists, workflows, or email activity.
Install the app
- Open the install page.
- Select the HubSpot production account you want to connect.
- Review the OAuth approval screen for Company Data Guys. The requested scopes are company read, company write, company property read, company property write, and OAuth.
- Click Connect app.
- After HubSpot redirects back, Company Data Guys stores encrypted OAuth tokens and connects the portal to a Company Data Guys account. New installs include trial lookups, and customers can upgrade to a paid plan from the pricing page.
Configure company records
LinkedIn company URL
The app looks for a LinkedIn company page URL or handle on the HubSpot company record. If a company is missing this value, add a URL such as
https://www.linkedin.com/company/apple/.App-card placement
HubSpot does not allow apps to silently change CRM layouts during OAuth install. Add the card from a company record by opening Customize, selecting the company Default view, using the plus button to add a card, choosing the Card library tab, searching for Company Data Guys, adding the card, and saving the view.
Use the app
- In HubSpot, go to Companies and open a company record.
- If the Company Data Guys card is not visible, click Customize at the top of the middle cards area, choose Default view, click the plus button to add a card, open the Card library tab, search for Company Data Guys, click Add card, then click Save and exit.
- Under Key information, click the gear icon, open Add properties, search for LinkedIn Company Page, make sure it is checked, then click Save and Save and exit.
- Enter the correct LinkedIn company page URL on the company record and click away from the field so HubSpot saves the value.
- Click Pull latest company info.
- The app fetches current public company data and writes the employee count value to
company_data_guys_linkedin_employee_count, labeled LinkedIn employee count. - The card shows the result status, portal ID, and refreshed timestamp so admins can verify recent activity.
Disconnect and uninstall
Disconnect
To disconnect, remove or revoke Company Data Guys from HubSpot settings under Integrations > Connected Apps. Future app-card calls and OAuth API access stop. Existing values already written to HubSpot company records remain in HubSpot.
Uninstall
To uninstall, open HubSpot Connected Apps, select Company Data Guys, and choose uninstall. Uninstalling stops future enrichment requests and does not automatically delete the LinkedIn employee count property or previously written values.
